Peggy Averitt
Liver Transplant Recipient, Ms. Peggy Averitt, is beyond grateful for her gift of life and lives her second chance at life with much gratitude and positivity. Peggy has dedicated herself to raising awareness of organ, eye and tissue donation wherever she can, sharing her transplant journey. Peggy has been a OneLegacy/Donate Life Ambassador for nine years, is a member of Team SoCal and recently participated in the 2022 Transplant Games of America, held in San Diego. Volunteering with Comfort Zone Camp, a children’s Grief Camp connected to One Legacy, is another way Peggy helps in her community. Peggy is an LVN and is very grateful to be working as a Palliative Care Nurse with the UCI Palliative Care Oncology Team, helping cancer patients. Watching her grandchildren grow, spending time with her adult children, watercolor painting, knitting and Flamenco dancing are all possible because of the gift of life Peggy received July 31, 2013. Peggy is honored to be a member of the Liver Health Foundation Board of Director!
We are proud of Peggy and her passion to serve and help others. She will be an important asset to Liver Health Foundation in our efforts to raise awareness of liver disease, encourage organ-eye-tissue donations, and serve our liver community.
