WE HAVE LOST A GREAT FRIEND
The liver community is mourning the loss of a wonderful physician and a great friend, Dr. Vinay Sundaram.
Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Dr. Sundaram’s family, to his friends and colleagues at Cedars-Sinai and beyond, and to his liver patients. We, at Liver Health Foundation, share in your sorrow and sadness in this enormous loss. May his memory be a blessing to all.
Dr. Sundaram was a wonderfully compassionate doctor who was loved by his patients and friends and colleagues alike. Dr. Sundaram was a member of the Liver Health Foundation’s Medical Advisory Council. We will always remember his eagerness to help, his easygoing and uplifting style, and his smiling face.
Dr. Vinay Sundaram, served as the Associate Professor of Medicine, Director of Hepatology Outcomes Research, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He completed his medical school at NYU school of medicine, followed by residency at the University of Virginia, gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, and transplant hepatology fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He has published more than 100 manuscripts and abstracts, including first authored papers in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Journal of Hepatology, and Liver Transplantation. Dr. Sundaram served on the AASLD acute chronic liver failure special interest group steering committee and was the chair of the AASLD membership and mentorship committee. He was also on the editorial boards of Hepatology, American Journal of Gastroenterology, and Hepatology Communications, and previously served on the United Network for Organ Sharing, UNOS, membership and professional standards committee.
We will miss Dr. Sundaram greatly. May he rest in peace.
